DOUGLAS DOUGAN :: producer | director | screenwriter

Douglas is a former journalist and business writer (twice winner of the Bengt's Pencil Award). He spent many years working in corporate communications for a variety of private and public sector clients, producing documentaries, before moving into mainstream film and television.

As a screenwriter, Douglas won a BBC Talent Award 2002 and was a finalist in the TAPS Scottish Screenwriter Showcase 2002.

Douglas teaches screenwriting at University of Edinburgh and City of Edinburgh Council’s Adult Education programme, and is also a script reader for Scottish Screen.

Douglas' specialism is script and creative development, expert in both drama and documentary.

   
 

 

   

Fluid Eye Productions' credits include the UK Film Council/BBC/Scottish Screen funded Cineworks films Edie's P.O.V. (2006) and Suburban Home (2005) which both received world premieres at Edinburgh International Film Festival and are currently in distribution to international film festivals. Douglas was also associate producer on the UK Film Council funded Digicult film Mono (2006). Fluid Eye Productions' independent documentary, Life Without Walls, received its premiere at the Scottish Parliament and was selected to open a major conference on health inequalities. It is to be screened on The Community Channel.

The 2006 independent film Run Tony Run! which Douglas executive produced won the BAFTA Scotland Best New Screenplay Award.

Our latest production, Waiting for the 42, is our first film to be entirely shot and post-produced on HD.
